The City of Amsterdam is requesting proposals from qualified consultants to prepare designs and manage construction for the rehabilitation of the proposed Community Center located at 149 East Main Street within the Downtown Revitalization (DRI) boundary. The Community Center will serve as a communal hub for arts, educational, and recreational activities and may include a programming space, computer lab, an art gallery, a shared kitchen, and a space for a variety of community activities.
The proposed Community Center at 149 East Main Street is owned by Centro Civico/Ibero. The Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area will offer programming at the community center facility in partnership with Centro Civico/Ibero.
The City of Amsterdam was awarded DRI funding to rehabilitate existing space for a Community Center. The City of Amsterdam is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to prepare and manage construction for the Community Center. Qualified firms will:
· Have experience dealing with Empire State Development grants.
· Integrate the vision outlined in the Downtown Revitalization Initiative to complement and enhance other DRI projects.
· Have experience designing and rehabilitating community centers.

Interested respondents must submit three (3) paper copies of their proposals and one (1) electronic version of their proposals no later than 1:00pm on Thursday, February 24, 2022.
