Brief job description:

Approximately 7,000 parcels which include residential, commercial, and industrial uses. Candidates must meet NYS Assessor requirements, be Certified Assessor or Candidate for Assessor; qualifications must be successfully reviewed and approved by NYS Tax and Finance Department’s Educational Services of the Office of Real Property Tax Services, before appointment. Candidates should possess: Excellent people skills; knowledge and experience in Real Property Tax Law and the assessment field; effective use of computers and software including experience with RPSv.4; knowledge and familiarity with valuation, deeds, sales, exemption administration, data collection, small claims and Board of Assessment Review proceedings; and assessment roll preparation, including legal notices.
