PUBLIC MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT
A public meeting will be held in the Common Council Chambers of the City of Amsterdam on Wednesday
September 18, 2019 at 6:30 pm.
The meeting is part of required public education as outlined by the United States Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) Lead and Copper Rule and is being called to discuss an exceedance of the action level of lead in
drinking water in some samples taken from homes in the City of Amsterdam.
The meeting will educate the public of the history of our lead and copper sampling, our treatment, action level
exceedance, what we have done as well as our plans for the future to return to compliance. A question and
answer session will also be conducted.
