FREE BULK ITEM DROP OFF 2021

 

July 19, 2021 – July 24, 2021

 

AFREE Bulk Item Drop-off at AMSTERDAM TRANSFER STATION LOCATED at 1247 RT. 5S(FORMERLY MOSA) is scheduled for the weekof July19, 2021 – July 24, 2021.  Homeownersand renters only, within the municipal boundaries of the City of Amsterdamwill be entitled to drop off bulk items at no cost at the AMSTERDAM TRANSFER STATION LOCATED AT 1247 RT. 5S (FORMERLY MOSA) duringcleanup week.  NO COMMERCIAL USERS ORCONTRACTORS WILL BE ALLOWED TO DROP OFF ANY ITEMS.  NODUMP TRUCKS, FLATBEDS, BOX TRUCKS, U-HAULS, DUMP TRAILERS OR COMMERCIALTRAILERS WILL BE ALLOWED.  

 

The AMSTERDAM TRANSFER STATION LOCATED AT 1247 RT. 5S(FORMERLY MOSA) will be open Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.   The transfer station is closed onSunday.  All loads going to the AMSTERDAM TRANSFER STATIONLOCATED AT 1247 RT. 5S (FORMERLYMOSA) facility must becovered upon arrival.

 

Owners and/or tenants MUSTobtain a drop off ticket(s) from the City Engineer’s Office at City Hall, 61Church Street, Amsterdam, NY  12010 beginning Friday, July 1, 2021between 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday – Friday, OR Thursday, July 15, 2021 from3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. ORSaturday, July 17, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at City Hall on the 1stfloor BEFORE being allowed todump.  Proof of residence must be presented at the time ofpicking up the tickets in the form of a valid NYS driver’s license or City ofAmsterdam tax bill (NO EXCEPTIONS).  *NOTE: TICKETS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLEAFTER SATURDAY, JULY 17, 2021.

 

All white goods (bulk items/scrap metal) will beaccepted at the Amsterdam DPW 4th Avenue site, located on Fourth Avenue & Belmont Place, Mondaythrough Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until11:00 a.m.  NO TICKET REQUIRED.

 

Homeowners and renters willbe responsible for providing the attendants with proof of certification thatrefrigerants have been removed from refrigerators, air conditioners andfreezers.

 

NO items containing refrigerants will be acceptedwithout proper certification from a NYS certified technician stating that therefrigerant has been removed in accordance with all applicable NYS Departmentof Environmental Conservation laws, rules and regulations.
