Amsterdam Heroes

 James Michael Loucks was born and raised in Amsterdam, New York. He enlisted in the United States Army in1982 at the age of 24. He served as a Combat Engineer in the S3 Command Center from 1982-1987. He was awarded 2nd Solider of the Year in 1984. He completed his basic training in Fort Dicks New Jersey and from there he was stationed, at Aid Belvoir, VA.  He later ended service in Fort Polk, LA.
