George was born, raised and educated in Broadalbin, NY by immigrant parents. With war on the horizon, he enlisted in the Army of the United States on 2/18/41. After basic training in Fort Dix, NJ , he then completed 8 weeks of further training as a Airplane and Engine Mechanic and was assigned to the Army Air Force.

During World War II he was assigned to the CB1 campaign and served in both Burma and India. George was honorably discharged 10/27/45. After discharge he made his home in the Hagaman-Amsterdam area. He worked at General Electric and raised 5 children.
