Dan Kowalczyk was born in Amsterdam on June 28, 1931. He graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School and enlisted in the Air Force in 1951. Dan proudly served during the Korean War. He was stationed in Miami, Florida and later in England as a Fireman on the Crash Crew for defusing the A-bomb. He was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 1955. For 20 years Dan worked at Fownes Brothers Glove Company as a Warper. He then worked for the General Electric Company in Schenectady, New York in Machine Repair for 30 years before retiring. Dan passed away on May 26, 2020.
