Amsterdam, NY TransportationThe City of Amsterdam Transit System offers City residents affordable, accessible transportation throughout Amsterdam and the surrounding areas. With buses that run to nearby FMCC, Albany and the County buildings located in Fonda, NY, public transportation is a great choice for both residents and visitors to the area.

Amsterdam Public Transportation Routes:

Commuter Service:
Department of Transportation (DOT) on Wolf Road, Albany and the NYS Campus in Albany.

Service to Fonda (County Building) and Fulton Montgomery Community College:
Runs start at 7:15 a.m., 8:25 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Citywide and Route 30:
Service from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00p.m.

Bus Fares: (All city buses are wheelchair accessible.)

  • FMCC - $2.00
  • Door to Door (24 hour reservation) - $3.00
  • Albany Commuter - $40.00/week or $9.00/day
