Recreation
The City of Amsterdam Recreation Department maintains 25 of the City's parks, veteran's monuments, traffic islands, bridges, athletic fields and the City pool on a daily basis.
The Department has also undertaken the City Maintenance Crew which maintains all City owned property. This includes maintaining overgrown vegetation and trash collection at these locations.
During the winter months the department clears snow from 13 sidewalks and bridges and maintains the City's skating rink at Veteran's Park.
