Amsterdam Free Library

Amsterdam Free LibraryThe Amsterdam Free Library has been open to the public since 1903. Built with funds from Andrew Carnegie, the library has become a historic symbol of the City of Amsterdam. The Library is located adjacent to the Amsterdam Post Office and across from the Public Safety Building.

The library houses a large collection of books, magazines, and periodicals as well as volumes of books on tape. All are welcome, to remove books from the library a library card is required but easily obtained with a photo ID.

Closed the following holidays: New Year's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.

Summer Hours: Daily hours remain the same. Saturday hours 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. during June. Closed Saturday July through Labor Day.

FMCC Library

The Evans Library at FMCC is open to all FMCC students, as well as local area students, residents, business persons and alumni. The library includes a large collection of books, reference and research materials as well as a computer lab.

Mohawk Valley Library Association

The Mohawk Valley Library Association serves the public libraries in Fulton, Montgomery, Schoharie, and Schenectady counties. The MVLA offers an Interlibrary Loan program which makes books that are not part of your local library's collection, available by a loan system between the libraries throughout the above counties.
