With buses that run to nearby Albany and the County buildings located in Fonda, NY, public transportation is a great choice for both residents and visitors to the area.

Amsterdam Public Transportation Routes:

Commuter Service:
Department of Transportation (DOT) on Wolf Road, Albany and the NYS Campus in Albany.

Service to Fonda (County Building):
Runs start at 7:15 a.m., 8:20 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Citywide and Route 30:
Service from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00p.m.

Bus Fares: (All city buses are wheelchair accessible.)

  • Adult (within City) - $2.00
  • Adult (Fonda) - $3.00
  • Door to Door (24 hour reservation) - $3.00
  • Albany Commuter - $40.00/week or $9.00/day
  • Children Under age 5 ride free
