Amsterdam-Florida-Glen Empire Zone
The Amsterdam-Florida-Glen Empire Zone offers incentives to encourage job creation and attract new investment within the designated areas in the City of Amsterdam and Montgomery County.
The Empire Zone program is designed to stimulate economic growth with the goal of making New York State more competitive as well as stimulate economic growth through a variety of State tax incentives designed to attract new businesses to New York and to enable existing businesses to expand and create more jobs. The program is one of the most effective, innovative and widely recognized economic development programs in the country; offering wide-ranging financial incentives and community-based workforce enhancement. The Empire Zone program has become a catalyst for new business development, existing business expansion and job creation.
The Amsterdam-Florida-Glen Empire Zone program provides a variety of business incentives to foster economic growth, such as: enhanced Wage Tax Credits, low-cost financing, investment tax credits and the Qualified Empire Zone Enterprises (QEZE) credits.
Because of the Empire Zone benefits, new businesses locating to Amsterdam, New York can operate virtually "TAX FREE" in the Amsterdam-Florida-Glen Empire Zone.
